In 2011, a group of 3D designers talked about the dream.

We want to re-create the beauty of Masada at the height of its architectural splendor. Not to aggrandize Herod, but to recognize the engineering marvels, and the historic and cultural significance of this desert fortress and luxury villa.

Michael Katzevmann - 3D design of the Northern Palace structures, based upon archaeological and historical references.

Lawrence Bates - 3D design of the Masada plateau perimeter and fortress walls, including locations of structures on the southern plateau.

Dr. Steven L. Derfler - December 22, 1951 – January 26, 2021-  American Archaeologist, educator, Middle East consultant. Research grantee Phillips Foundation, 1989-1992, Hannah Foundation, 1988-1992, Fingerhut Foundation, 1990-1992. Member Archaeol. Institute American, Israel Exploration Society, American Schools of Oriental Research, American professors for Peace in Mid East (Executive Committee 1982-1988). We were privileged to have Dr. Derfler consult on numerous authentic 3D structure models on Masada.

Kent Morrison - Masada3D Team Lead - 3D design of the structures on the plateau, and combination of the above modeler's products and the base 3D model.
